Peter Clarke

Peter has worked in Therapeutic Communities for slightly too many years than he is prepared to divulge.  In that time, he has occupied almost every role you could think of.  His favourite was the 3 weeks he was responsible for running the kitchen that fed over 50 people most days.

The dull but necessary committee work includes chairing the Accreditation Committee for the Royal College of Psychiatry Community of Communities – this accredits Therapeutic Communities and oversees the accreditation of Enabling Environments.  In addition, Peter is on ‘The Consortium of Therapeutic Communities’ (TCTC) Board – a charity that supports Therapeutic Communities in their work.  Peter is also a Board member of a youth charity ‘Centre 33’ which offers counselling, information, advice and support to young carers in Cambridgeshire. Somewhere along the way, Peter qualified as a social worker – but has never worked as a social worker for a local authority.

Peter’s biggest (failed) ambition is to create the space to walk in the woods every day, and sometimes do a little bit of foraging.
